Stress Stress Stress

Mon Sep 21, 2009, 8:53 AM
Getting more stressed out as tomorrow is getting closer. A businesslunch, my first, for anyone interested. Anyone got businesslunch tips and tricks? What not to eat or say or do? It's for a pretty important job where my biggest task is to be funny and witty....which in real life i'm not....always. Oh, and eating in public, the horror!

Transcatsual

Sun May 24, 2009, 10:30 AM
So, my (male) cat stepped proudly in our garden this afternoon, wearing (nothing but) a Bra. He had putten the band that goes around the arm, around his neck. The cups were under his body, dragging them across the garden. I laughed at him and then he didn't want to look at me anymore and sat underneath a plant looking embarrased (you know, like cats always do when you laugh at them, ..not with them)

My Arthistory essay is almost done. Although, I still don't really know what's the last subject we have to discuss. I've gotten to Ecology: Land Art and Art Povera.
Now I have to start culturehistory and write about the history of television in a cultural point of view and make a portret gallery. I will start with my picturebook tomorrow, or the day after.

Another cat story

Wed Mar 25, 2009, 12:36 PM
My cat (Sarabi) has been sick for over two weeks now, but today, after the echo, they've found an object in her stomach. We were all guessing what it could be. I thought it could be a piece of starfoam or the bra I seem to be missing. The vet just called, turns out she ate isolation material we've used for our windows....
She just had surgery and we can pick her up in half an hour. She's probably still unconsious. I hope she'll get better soon.
Oh, and she will come home with a nude belly....maybe I will see her bellybutton!:D

Love,

Eline

.Got tons of homework.

Edit: Not isolation material. We've got the object at home now, and it appears to be a piece of eraser...

Awesome News

All of my friends passed their judgement with grades sufficient to pass on to the next semester! Woohoo! Congratulations Esther, Leonie, Maj-Britt, Merel and Simone!
It was quite scary to present in front of a group of teachers, but fun at the same time. I'm always really bad at finishing sentences correctly:(. Gonda (imagestudies teacher) liked the portrait I made of my sister so much, he wanted to know her. He also liked my nudes...haha. Offcourse he did;) The lookingbox was an object of attention as well, with my golden mac and octopusses.
It went quite okay I guess, though I didn't fill out the ten minutes we've got. But in that way I helped out other people who really needed the time;)

I ended up getting a 7, which is quite a good grade:)
This is what they said:

Nice presentation. Pleasantly surprised. Great Imagestudies work, Portrait was beautiful. Illustrations were good. Affectionate, own work. Keep on going like this.

I have no idea though what they've expected me to bring to school, since they were pleasently surprised. They must have had low expectations or something.

I brought tons of things. It was quite a lot of carrying whilst being watched by foul faces in the train back home, since I took in such a large space. Luckily, we only have these things twice a year...

Next week International Film Festival Rotterdam Project Week. We have to watch five films at the Festival and make Artwork out of it with the theme Unlimited by being Limited, which is a very difficult theme in my opinion. I've watched the film The Strength of Water two days ago, which was a great film. The director and the writer of the film came over from New Zealand. It was the first time I was in a cinema where people had to applaud at the end of the movie. Which was quite cool. There was a Q&A afterwards. I've watched Frozen River and Gomorra as well. So, two to go. I'm looking forward to making something with :icones-chan: and :iconleoniehammerstein: next week. Curious what it will look like...

Dear readers,

We've just found our cat! Seems he's been hiding in an oldtimer car (he wouldn't settle for less, he has a pedigree). Now he's filthy with oil or something, so my mother is cleaning him. My other cat is probably still sniffing him and wondering "Who the hell is he?" and "Why is he eating my food?" But anyway, I'm happy he's back home...

Since I'm writing my first journal, I would like to introduce to you: my friends from Artschool!

:iconlittlemonstermind: :iconshortthing: :icones-chan:

They are all great! And school's great too! Most days it feels like i'm going to some sort of cool party everyday. Though, sometimes it's a bit more tough, with homework and all those deadlines. It's hard work, you know, but my class is great! Everyone's really nice.

Love and all the best,

Eline
